What Verra is, how it compares to other marketplaces, what selling costs, and what to expect as a buyer.
What is Verra?
+
Verra is a social marketplace for handmade goods. It combines social media features with the commerce tools of a marketplace, giving artists a dedicated space to share their work, build a following, and sell directly to people who value handcrafted, original pieces. It was built out of a frustration with the current state of online selling, where platforms are flooded with mass-produced products, fees keep rising, and environments prioritize transactions over authenticity. Verra is a space where handmade is the standard, not the exception.
How is Verra different from Etsy?
+
Verra is built exclusively for handmade goods, so there are no mass-produced products competing for attention. The platform is social-first, meaning your posts, your story, and your creative process are front and center. You build real relationships with buyers, not just transactions. And our fee structure is one of the lowest of any marketplace, with no monthly fees and no listing fees.
What does it cost to sell on Verra?
+
There are no monthly fees or listing fees. Verra charges sellers a 5% transaction fee when you make a sale, one of the lowest take rates of any handmade marketplace. You keep more of what you earn, and you never pay just to have your shop open.
How do I get paid?
+
Payments are processed through Stripe. When you make a sale, your earnings become available 10 days after you ship the order. You can then transfer them from Verra to your Stripe account, and from your Stripe account to your bank account. You set your own prices and manage your own payouts.
What can I sell on Verra?
+
Handmade goods of all kinds: ceramics, jewelry, textiles, paintings, woodwork, photography prints, candles, leather goods, and more. Whether you're an individual artist or part of a collective, the key requirement is that the work is handmade.
How do I start selling?
+
Download the app, create an account, and complete the seller onboarding process, which includes setting up your payment account through Stripe. Once your account is verified, you can list your first product and start sharing your work.
How do I buy something on Verra?
+
Browse the app, follow artists whose work you love, and purchase directly from their shop. You can discover new artists through the social feed or search for specific types of handmade goods.
Is my purchase protected?
+
Yes. All transactions are processed securely through Stripe. If something goes wrong with an order, our support team works directly with you and the seller to resolve it.
What makes Verra a social marketplace?
+
Artists share their creative process, not just finished products. You can follow artists, see behind-the-scenes content, and build a genuine connection with the people who make what you buy. It's a community built around craft, not just commerce.
