Verra is the social marketplace for handmade goods. Anchored in authenticity and community, Verra is built for artists, crafters, and makers who understand the value of handmade and shoppers who are looking for unique, handcrafted pieces from real artists.

This is a contract role working directly with the founder of an early-stage startup, with a path to full-time as the company grows. The work spans three areas: talking to artists in person, running our social channels, and building the events and partnerships that put Verra in front of the right people. This is not a narrow, single-discipline role. It's for someone who wants to learn how a marketplace gets off the ground and have a hand in all of it.

What you'll do

Sales and artist outreach. Go to craft fairs, farmers markets, and art events. Talk to vendors, take a real interest in their work, and listen to how they got here. Introduce Verra, hand out sticker packs, share what we're building, read whether it's the right moment, and sign people up when it is. Equally important: write down what you hear. The complaints, the wishes, the recurring problems artists have selling their work. That feedback drives what we build and how we position it.

Marketing and content. Build and run our presence on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit. Make content that artists want to watch and share. Engage genuinely with the artist community, comment and show up. Help design and write email campaigns.

Events and partnerships. Keep a running calendar of art, craft, and creative events. Identify who's vending each one, rate how well they fit Verra, and prioritize who's worth a conversation. Build relationships with studios, collectives, galleries, fair organizers, and venues. Help plan and run events we host or sponsor.

Who you are

Smart and quick to learn. You work hard and you're hungry to prove what you can do. You're genuinely curious about artists, handmade work, and how a business gets built. You're comfortable walking up to a stranger at a market and starting a real conversation. You can write in a way that sounds like a person, not a brand. You're organized enough to track what you learn so it stays useful. You work well without supervision.

You don't need years of experience. You need to be the kind of person who figures it out.

Based in Durango, CO. Contract to start, with a path to full-time. Compensation based on experience.
